But why the compilations? Where is the Storybox album? Fire affects KOOP Radio - January 6, 2006

KOOP FM, the radio station in Austin that hosts Queer Waves suffered a fire. It has not been decided if the show will air tomorrow. The interview with Agent D has been postponed. So... since I promised you all that you'd be able to listen to Storybox's version of Eleanor Rigby, two versions of it are loaded now in the music page, in the "covers" section for your enjoyment. The report on the incident can be found here.

Airplay - December 26, 2005

Electric Sugar Ant was played on the Pride Showcase tonight from RGIN. This marks the first song played by storybox in any radio show! Thanks Bill!

Rigby Vocals - December 24, 2005

The vocals for Eleanor Rigby were recorded today. What a task! This song is not as easy to sing as it sounds. Expect two mixes here soon. And if you are reading this on posting day, have yourself a Merry Christmas.

Eleanor Rigby - December 17, 2005

Agent D spent much of today in the studio recording the strings part to Storybox's cover version of "Eleanor Rigby" for an upcoming Beatles tribute show.

Now you may think this was an easy task but they were not programmed strings. Three violin tracks, one cello track, one contrabass track and a few more chamber tracks - 8 in total. All played live. That's no MIDI.

The drum parts and bass and other things were programmed earlier this week. After the vocals are recorded and the song is mixed and mastered, Eleanor Rigby will probably not be played here in a long while!

The Name Game - December 12, 2005

Since the release of "Such Things As Love And Pain" I have regretted releasing it under Dave Montana because many have confused me with the country singer from Britain, or thought I was a 70's porn star/stripper. It's been almost 2 years deciding on a name that would be more adequate to me. I have a soul-sister who told me that my songs were like pages from a storybook. Storybox is that; stories coming out of my head. But that was not as easy as it sounds. A friend from the band Eloquent and I brainstormed for days in search for something better, and it ended up being like a teenage girl trying out different prom dresses - always go back to the first one. And so Storybox was born.
