Ashes In The Air

Agent D

Had a chat with a friend who found out his ex was Pro Nazi. This song was written after that chat. But the intention is to remind the world that people are still being judged, persecuted and discriminated against based on race, beliefs or sexual orientation.
Stripped of all their dignity
Robbed of their possessions
Consumed with doubt and fear
Anguish and oppression
Behind electric fences
Enslaved to brutal labour
Bread and water given
As if it was a favour
Led to a place of darkness
Disguised as a shower room
The poison fell upon them
While the others went up in fumes
Ashes in the air
Cried out for help but no one really cared
I can hear them screaming everywhere
Do you see those ashes in the air
Can you now imagine
Your flesh burning in flames
Can you feel the terror
At the altar of their pain
Why did we let it happen
We took so long to act
Persecution never ended
They are still under attack
Ashes in the air
Cried out for help but no one really cared
I can hear them screaming everywhere
Do you see those ashes in the air
Ashes in the air
Cried out for help but no one really cared
There are children hiding everywhere
Those are human ashes in the air
